Cyclone Nilam left a trail of destruction across Andhra Pradesh inundating several villages, forcing people to evacuate and leaving essential infrastructure damaged. A primary sector affected by the rains was schools as a result of damaged school resources affecting children and teaching faculty.

Child education and relief being a main pillar of the Sri Padma Sundaram Trust Foundation’s program, we undertook to provide some relief by donating school kits to over 50 children spread across these fifteen villages.

Each kit comprising basic stationery for a regular school day – one school bag, four notebooks, four pencils, two pens, two erasers, one pencil sharpener, one writing board and a geometry box – will hopefully serve to promote a return to normalcy and resuming schooling.
